Youth Internships

Filipino Youth Coalition offers internships for high school youth and directly prepares youth for a vast array of career paths they may choose for their future. During the internship, youth will be trained and nurtured in their knowledge and skills to be able to take on leadership roles such as facilitating specific activities, workshops, and planning events by engaging in strategic team discussions related to logistics, finance, and outreach while strengthening knowledge on culture humility and the nonprofit sector. Interns report directly to the FYC Program Director and the Activities Coordinator.

CORE

Our CORE interns have been a significant part of Filipino Youth Coalition's legacy. Staff train and guide youth interns in projects such as facilitating educational workshops, organizing fundraisers, and planning for one of our largest events: Battle of the Tribes. Students can expect to develop leadership skills that can be applied to their professional career, such as communication and marketing skills through project management and community outreach. The time commitment for CORE is roughly once a week throughout the academic school year.

Summer Intern

Throughout the duration of each summer, we host a summer program where our summer interns can join staff members in facilitating workshops and organizing fun events and activities for the program. Summer internships are usually reserved for high school seniors who have already been through one or all of our programs. Similar to our CORE internship, summer interns can expect to gain skills that they can apply to their professional career, such as building rapport with participants and project management.
